Joan of Arc

One of my favorite paintings from this past year, Joan of Arc, has just been posted to my website gallery. This work was created over five days back in May and is now featured in my latest step by step DVD. Released just this week in celebration of the 600th anniversary of Joan's birth, the film illuminates my entire painting process, from rough sketches to the final oil glazes.

I am very happy with the success of this painting, both for its technical achievements as well as conceptual base - capturing Joan of Arc in a moment of transcendence. An in depth commentary about the work is available in the gallery:
